Sushi at a whole different level. So fresh, so delicious... I am a sushi and sashimi fanatic who believes that not only must the fish be fresh but the rice should be perfectly seasoned and Nigiri should be the right size. This restaurant meets those expectations and exceeds it with the variety of fish that is offered. Very, very good!
Best place to go to on the west side for laidback authentic Japanese sushi. Staff were nice and friendly, I love how the chef greet you together when you walk in!
Comfortable sitting however it can get a little loud inside when it's busy.
Came here last month for omakase. Maybe it was because i wasn't starved but I didn't want to finish the last two items of the set menu. I wish you could tailor the omakase so that you can get a little less and pay a little less. I'll only come back if I'm hungry. Quality of the sushi was very good and can't complain.
Screaming, crying and throwing up at how good this place is. I would eat here every day if I could but I don't want to ruin the special moment that was my first experience at Sasabune. Every course was the best bite of food I've ever had. Left full but would of ate more if they presented it to me because it was that good.
Good place for no frill sushi. Very traditional. Prices are a little higher but quality makes up for it. My only issue was the sushi rice tasted dry and often times kept falling apart consistently despite trying different techniques to picking it up. Both my friend and I felt the same. The sushi chef knows what he is doing! The salmon is so fresh it melts in your mouth! Fav spot in LA! Hidden gem for sure!
I set a business meeting at this restaurant because I heard it was quiet and the food was nice. We ordered the Japanese Omakase special and we really enjoyed it. Service is great and the ambience is quiet for a meeting. The sushi was awesome and very fresh. By the way, it is a lot of food and so you will be very very full when leaving after the Omakase. I will return because this was a very nice place.
